If you are looking for something special in Cornwall, Ancarva is a great choice. We have been holidaying in Cornwall with our 2 boys for the last 10 years and we are really fussy. However, this is by far the most stylish place we have stayed in. Its contemporary architecture and interiors, are also cosy and comfortable. Its all the finishing touches that make you feel at home immediately. The owners have carefully provided everything you could need to enjoy your stay and obviously take great pride in their property. The Kitchen is fully equipped and is a great sociable place to hang out in, especially on a sunny afternoon with the patio doors opening out onto the large balcony overlooking the water - fantastic for cooking and entertaining or enjoying with extended family/friends. The living room has large comfortable sofas to snuggle up on, with a large TV for family movies. There are also lots of Kids/adults board games/books/movies available - music system - internet. The lounge area is flooded with natural light as it has all glass windows and doors out onto a balcony, so you are able to enjoy the views. Watching the tide going in and out is fascinating as its unusual being so close to the water. The bedrooms are all double size and spacious - lovely fresh linen and towels. We all slept really well, as its so wonderfully quiet - feeling calmer and more relaxed than when we arrived. Its unique setting, right on the waters edge, with views over to the unspoilt forest and countryside, give such an amazing sense of space and seclusion. It is very well connected to conveniently explore Cornwall, with whit sand bay, kings sand, Caw sand and the Mount Edgcumbe estate all very close by an often overlooked part of Cornwall. We also travelled a little further afield to Port Isaac and Padstow on the North coast as well on this trip. On the rainy day under pressure from the kids we had a great afternoon of fun at Plymouth Karting/laser tag which is only 30 mins away. We stopped at the Salt Ash Waitrose on our way there, which is straight after the Tamar Bridge but we noticed a Waitrose van was doing a delivery to the Ancarva area which is helpful. There is a health store in the village of Millbrook which is really convenient. The Canteen is a great casual dining cafe for breakfast or lunch and worth visiting as its only 5 minutes away. Ancarva is NEW - its a little gem and we absolutely loved it !
