The house is located in Cornwall at Southdown on the banks of Millbrook Lake which is a tidal tributary to the Tamar estuary. Southdown is situated on the Rame peninsular in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is only 15 miles from the excellent shopping and leisure facilities of Plymouth.
Ancarva has the benefit of 80 metres of direct water frontage. It has its own private pontoon suitable for yachts up to 13 metres in length with suitable shallow draft. The mooring provides excellent access to the Tamar estuary and beyond to Plymouth sound and the excellent coastal waters of the South West coast line.
The house sits in an enviable position with excellent views and great access to the water. Southdown is a very small settlement of only a few houses and is very tranquil and peaceful. The facilities of Millbrook, Cawsand and Kingsand are all within easy reach. The golden sandy beaches of Whitsand Bay are all within 2 miles of Ancarva.
The Rame Peninsular, also known as hidden Cornwall, is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and has many wonderful hidden villages to explore. The Mount Edgcumbe estate can be found here which has wonderful grounds and gardens abutting the estuary and sea.
One of the finest restaurants in Cornwall sits high above Whitsand Bay over looking the beach below and has spectacular views out to sea. The aptly named restaurant, The View, offers beautiful food with spectacular views, an experience that you will want to revisit time and again.
Another culinary gem is the Canteen at Maker Heights. Situated high above the rugged coastline of the Rame Peninsular sits the Canteen offering beautiful food that is sure to delight every palate.
